How It All Began

Abundant Life Children's Home exists today because of adopted twin boys, Jeremy and Jason. Charlie and Cathy, founders of Abundant Life Foundation, found the boys deep in the jungles of the Golden Triangle region of Thailand in August 1989, shortly after moving to Thailand to begin a Bible college. They were told about a set of twins that escaped being killed at birth; a strange custom of a tribal group that had superstitious beliefs about twins. After their lives were spared at birth, the twins were taken by families working for Khun Saa, the infamous drug warlord. The babies were not loved; only being raised to serve as soldiers for the drug trade. Charlie and Cathy trekked to the remote mountain area and found two little boys only ten days old and at the point of death. Their tiny bodies only 4-5 lbs, each were filled with infection. They bought the babies for $4.00 each and took them down the mountain " to find a good home for them". Needless to say, their home was the home God prepared for these boys. They adopted Jeremy and Jason and raised them as their own. Finding Jeremy and Jason opened their eyes to things taking place among the children of the Golden Triangle. A vision was birthed in 1994 to establish Abundant Life Children's Home. Jeremy is now the youth pastor at Abundant Life Children's Home. Jason is now the coffee roaster for Temple Veil Coffee.

Coffee Farms

Coffee cultivation began because of the work we do with the children. It became obvious that the root cause children were abandoned was a result of poverty. We realized if we could help families to prosper, they would be able to properly care for their children. We have helped over 500 independent, small-scale farmers in Northern Thailand receive training, oversight, seedlings, and supplies to develop organic coffee cultivation to subsidize their incomes. Temple Veil Coffee compensates farmers above fair-trade coffee prices. This enables families to prosper and raise their families with dignity.
